Yoku’s Island Express Preps For May 29th Release On Switch, PS4, Xbox One
Yoku's Island Express

Team17 and Villa Gorilla released a new trailer for Yoku’s Island Express, the upcoming adventure-pinball delivery game, which is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The trailer gives a brief rundown of the game’s story, which centers around a god-egg being in peril as some of the evil forces around the mystical island want to get their hands on the egg. It’s up to a courier bug to help figure out what’s going on and save the day. You can check out the trailer for the game below.

Players will start by washing ashore the island and working their way through the problems of the animal inhabitants by delivering packages in a timely enough manner.

The hook for Yoku’s Island Express is that the game relies on pinball style navigation while making your way through the island. It’s kind of a mix of puzzle-oriented, 2D adventuring. It’s difficult to describe, but the white ball attached to Yoku works identical to a pinball, and players will need to use environmental paddles to propel Yoku and his white pearl around the stage in order to progress, access hidden areas, or retrieve certain items.

Team17 announced that pre-orders for Yoku’s Island Express have opened up right now for home consoles and PC ahead of its May 29th release date. It’s expected to arrive for $19.99 as a digitally distributed title, while those who pre-order will receive a 10% discount. However, we all know the rule about pre-orders… right?

For those of you who are not keen on building up your digital library, you will be able to acquire a physical copy of the game starting June 15th in Europe and Australia and June 19th in North America for the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Sorry PC gamers but no physical copies for you.
