Bethesda’s annual QuakeCon is gearing up for its August 9th roll out at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, Texas. Tickets start at $75 for access to the BYOC tournaments, panels and events, seat selection, and for receiving a collectible enamel BYOC pin. Tickets scale all the way up to $400, which includes all of the content from the $75 version, along with priority access to BYOC seating, priority access to events, priority customer service, personalized event badge upgrades, and a BYOC seating upgrade.
A short chart details what you gain access to for what level of wallet-rending you’re willing to undertake to get your first in-person glimpse at DOOM: Eternal, as well as unlock some bonus swag for your trip to Texas.
The press release also reveals that there’s going to be a limited edition swag bag available, where pre-orders set at $150 will include a roll-over backpack, a set of three exclusive pins, a QuakeCon stainless steel water bottle, a QuakeCon air freshener, a safe-for-work mouse pad, a luggage tag, and a 36-inch inflatable rocket launcher from Quake Champions.
As mentioned, those of you attending QuakeCon in person will be the first to lay their eyes on DOOM: Eternal in real-time. Everyone else will get to see the first outing of the gameplay via a trailer made available through the livestream.
DOOM is one of the last manly games being made in today’s AAA generation of gaming. Most titles have succumbed to social engineering being peddled within the industry by groups like Facebook and their Women In Gaming campaign, which is literally designed to enforce women hires at game studios and to either replace male characters or add playable female characters to games that women don’t typically play.
