Where the Biblical Adam may have caused us a few problems by partaking in an apple or two, according to More foes alternate take on the Creation, the original man may have indulged in a bit too much pork.
Which is strange considering his best companion in Paradise here is not Eve but Ricky, a pig; the duo’s idyllic existence is disrupted when Ricky chooses to visit his relatives and Adam considers it wise to slaughter three of the pig’s plump friends for a sumptuous dinner.
Which was presumably enjoyed by Ricky as well. How this connects to the Third Reich, I’m not certain yet, but it turns out that both protagonists’ girlfriends end up falling victim to Hitler; Pepa being murdered and Eve, abducted.
Together they set out for vengeance across multiple epochs of history in the top-down pixel art shooter that is Adam and Ricky; Adam plays the ranged warrior while Ricky the melee bruiser, allowing for local co-operative game-play of combined skillsets or single-player action where characters may be switched between at will.
Progressing through various eras of history will expose the companions to evolving fashion sensibilities and outfits, imbuing each of them with a plethora of weapons, stats perks and special attacks.
Which will come in handy against the broad range of enemies that spans traditional demons and Hitler’s minions, it seems, emphasized by a shop-merchant system that has no intention of being a shopping simulator.

Don’t let the absurdity of it all fool you though; great pains are being taken to flesh out a two-fold dialog system for instance, where bubble dialogs communicate an NPC’s mood and cinematic ones usher the narrative forward.
Not mentioning of course the ‘enhanced’ chiptune soundtrack that you’ll be able to drive to work to, or the art style; if these shaders and water effects are anything to go by, the latter of which will also include splash, blood discoloration, sinking and fire quenching effects, Paradise is indeed lovely.
