Bud Spencer And Terence Hill: Slaps And Beans Now Available On Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One

A hardcore throwback to the classic slaptick comedy of Bud Spencer & Terrence Hill called Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans is currently available right now for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

The game originally came out back in the spring after graduating from Early Access over on Steam. It’s a classic rekindling of the arcade beat-’em-up genre that dominated the parlors and bars back during the 1980s and 1990s.

Players take on the role of Bud and Terrance, fighting their way through a number of scenarios themed around the movies from the 1970s and 1980s. It’s a sprite-based game with high-quality pixel art that looks like it comes from the heyday of 1990s PC games or 32-bit game consoles. You can check out the trailer below to get an idea of what the gameplay is like.

The game features two player cooperative play across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Players will be able to punch, kick, grab, slap, and throw baddies around a variety of exotic shows.

The game also features weapons and environmental interactions, so you can pick up stuff, throw it at opponents, and basically engage in the sort of slapstick combat that the duo were known for in their movies.

Trinity Team tried combining some of the humor with classic beat-’em-up mechanics, so you get a little bit of that Streets of Rage vibe but with a slapdash of The Three Stooges.

Additionally, there are several mini-games featured throughout the gameplay, including racing segments with the red dune baggy and yellow tarp.

Trinity Team managed to bring the game to life after a successful Kickstarter campaign, and after having a solid run on Steam they’re now aiming to bring the game to home console users.

You can pick up a digital copy of Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans from the Nintendo eShop, the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Store right now.
