James Gunn Fired By Disney For Pedophilic Jokes; Patton Oswald Blames #GamerGate

James Gunn Fired GamerGate

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 director, James Gunn, has been fired by Disney after old tweets surfaced that featured the director joking about pedophilia and having sex with young boys. The anti-Trump, Liberal director was sent packing after he began to trend on social media when Conservative journalist Mike Cernovich made his followers aware of Gunn’s tweets.

The Hollywood Reporter has quotes from Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn, who explained…

“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,”

This came after Mike Cernovich shared some of Gunn’s old tweets. You can view them below courtesy of An Open Secret.

After Cernovich brought the tweets to the wider public’s attention, the Left-wing members of the Intersectional Inquisition began targeting the author of Gorilla Mindset. This caused James Gunn, Mike Cernovich, and Guardians of the Galaxy all to trend on social media.

At the moment Cernovich’s Twitter account is protected due to dogpiling from Social Justice Warriors.

Patton Oswalt and other SJWs are claiming that it’s a #GamerGate-style smear campaign.

And yes, Social Justice Warriors really are blaming #GamerGate for James Gunn’s firing.

The former director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 didn’t shy away from social media after his name began to trend. As noted by Bounding Into Comics, Gunn issued a statement clarifying himself and the situation on July 19th, 2018, writing across a series of tweets…

“Many people who have followed my career know when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor.

“It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.

“In the past, I have apologized for humor of mine that hurt people. I truly felt sorry and meant every word of my apologies.

“For the record, when I made these shocking jokes, I wasn’t living them out. I know this is a weird statement to make, and seems obvious, but, still, here I am, saying it.”

Well, Disney has parted ways with James Gunn while some are calling for an investigation into the director; others are attacking Mike Cernovich for bringing the tweets to light; Marvel fanboys are just worried about who is going to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3 now?

(Thanks for the news tip Mike Cernovich)
