LG released its latest flagship last month in June. The sleek G7 ThinQ, the 6.1-inch QHD + fullVision 3120 x 1440 comes with a notch. It’s not flashy, or the best looking 2018 handset, but it’s not unattractive either, it seems LG designed the G7 to be a useful practical device, and it’s already being discounted with a $120 savings deal, according to BGR. It comes in four finishing colors – Platinum grey, Aurora black, Moroccan blue, and Raspberry rose.
Let’s look at what makes the G7 practical for the user to have, this phone offers Super Bright Display, which will allow the user to up the lighting when necessary, normally this comes in handy when one makes the transition from minimum light to bright light, and the visibility is quite poor trying to read the display. The Super Bright Display offers 1000 nit brightness allowing full outdoor visibility even in direct sunlight. Another user friendly amenity on the G7 is the left side button, LG decided to make the left button quite useful by providing Google Assistant, with just a hold down on the button and Google Assistant will provide whatever information you stand in need of, or desire. It also has a floating bar – which allows for quick access to apps shortcuts, and call notifications, the toolbar is also collapsible and movable. Another practical tool on this device is the “Always-On-Display” this display always displays the time, date, on a sleeping screen, and palm rejection which prevents accidental interactions on the touch screen.
The G7 sports dual 16mp cameras, while the rear cameras have a 16mp standard-angle lens f/1.6, with a resolution up to 4656 x 3492 pixels, a glass camera lens, 10-bit HDR image sensor, OIS+ and EIS. The second rear camera has 16mp f/1,9 with LED flash Wide-Angle lens , offers Portrait Mode, Live Photo, Manual Mode and Super Bright Camera.
The Front cameras offer a 8mp lens f/1.9, with a wide-angle field of view, a resolution up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, full HD video recording, selfie light and Beauty Shot ( assist in softening facial features.)
I wouldn’t call the feature Boombox Speakers practical, but this all depends on the user, these 39% larger speakers are designed for louder boosted sound. Two analog mics combine with the phone’s receiver are there to improve sound clarity while recording in any type environment.
The G7 also has a IP68 rating for dust and water resistant, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back, as well as the camera sports Gorilla Glass 4. The sides of the device are premium aluminum metal sides, with shock resistant MIL-STD-810G testing.
Now let’s talk about what this baby sports under the hood, it comes out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo, the processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 up to 2.8 GHz x 4 Octa-Core SDM845, the battery capacity is 3,000mAh, USB type-C charging port, 4GB RAM, microSD card up to 2TB, 64 GB of internal memory, and it’s wireless charging with compatible dock. Last but not least, the retail price is $750 US dollars, currently many phone providers and retail stores are offering a variety of specials going on right now.
