Override: Mech City Brawl, 4-Player Mech Brawler Arrives On PS4, Xbox One, PC December 4th

A new 3D mech brawler from developer The Balance Inc., and publisher Modus Games called Override: Mech City Brawl, is set to launch on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC starting December 4th at the end of the year.

The game is a one through four player 3D brawler, sort of like Virtual-On: Cybertroopers, but instead of being a one-on-one fight between two big robots in a variety of environments using different kinds of weapons to dispatch foes, the game sports up to four players on the battlefield.

The game’s announcement came with a debut trailer that gives you a look at what you can expect from the upcoming 3D brawler.

The game looks really cool. It has a miniature toy filter, so there’s a bokeh effect around the edges of the screen to give it an almost model toy look for the surrounding city, while the focus is squarely on the giant robots wrecking everything in their path.

You’ll be able to participate in 1-vs-1 or 2-vs-2 tag matches, brawling across real-world locations based on San Francisco, Egypt, Mexico and Japan. If you don’t have any friends but you want to still partake in the city-destroying mayhem, you can play through a single-player campaign designed for the forever-alone mech fans out there.

There are 12 robots to choose from, each with their own specialty skills and fighting abilities, allowing you to mix and match melee attacks with long-range projectiles and special abilities.

But you don’t have to stick with the default mechs, you can also customize the characters in the garage, changing up their accessories and skins that you can unlock through play. Co-op modes are also available, along with a party co-op, where up to four players control each limb of the mech and must work together to secure victory.

If this sounds like a cool game to you, be sure to sign up right now to participate in the Override beta by visiting the official website.
