The mod team at the gaming website VGChartz have decided to close up discussion regarding a video from YouTuber RobinGaming covering Naughty Dog’s SJW agenda. The video has been circulating for the past week across social media and some forum boards, but sites like ResetEra and now VGChartz have decided that it’s not something they want on their forums due to the fact that not all of their members agree with the current direction that Naughty Dog is heading in.
The original thread was started on July 2nd, 2018.
After eight pages of some back and forth with some members – majority of whom agreed with the video’s content – the head mod stepped in to shut down discussion on July 3rd, 2018 because they were “sad” that so many of their members were “closed-minded”.
The head moderator, CGI-Quality, wrote…
“I just…..can’t. This thread just isn’t warranted (and some of you are also far more close-minded than I ever thought you were – but that’s another story). I’d give a longer response, but I don’t know if this is more comical or sad. The phrase “SJW”…………. is…… really…….. like a cancer, particularly for The Mod Team, and especially to many other users here. Thus, it helps make the decision to say ‘goodbye’ to this thread all the more easier.
“PS, a few of you guys really brought a [sad face] to my face as a result of this thread.”
Some of the users had expressed their disapproval of Naughty Dog embracing what’s been called the SJW agenda, where the company is putting more of a focus on politically-charged diversity and virtue signaling the representation of certain groups. Matters were also exacerbated when one of the Naughty Dog staff said that they didn’t make games for anti-SJW gamers.
All of this was covered in the 20 minute video published by RobinGaming.
The reason the video is so contentious is because Robin has actually been a huge supporter of Naughty Dog, and has been a self-professed fanboy since the Amy Hennig days when she introduced the PlayStation audience to the first Uncharted.
However, with Robin calling out Neil Druckmann for his agenda to push the ideologies espoused by Anita Sarkeesian from Feminist Frequency, and exposing Druckmann for openly admitting to changing characters and including certain sociopolitical elements to spite certain groups of gamers, the SJW community began attacking Robin for his views.
Other communities such as ResetEra opted to ban discussion of the video altogether.
VGChartz has now joined the fray as another community unwilling to discuss the video, mainly because people actually agreed that Naughty Dog is adopting an SJW agenda for their games.
We’ve seen this level of censorship used often to suppress views that don’t align with the Intersectional Inquisition. In fact, those who have been critical of DICE and EA for pushing an SJW agenda were also suppressed after the moderators on the Battlefield V sub-reddit banned discussion of “historical inaccuracy” or anyone being critical of DICE and EA’s agenda.
So far there is no release date for The Last of Us 2, but some gamers have begun spreading the word that they won’t be purchasing the game at launch due to Naughty Dog’s agenda.
