Bloodlust 2: Nemesis, Gothic Vampire Action-RPG Enters Early Access On Steam

If you’re into Gothic vampires, hack-and-slash dungeon crawling, and Vampire: The Masquerade-style games, you might enjoy Bloodlust 2: Nemesis. The hack-and-slash action-RPG recently entered into Early Access over on Steam for $14.99.

The game is made by WRF Studios, and it’s a sequel to the original Bloodlust: Shadowhunter, which came out back in 2015.

The original game managed to capture a dedicated cult-audience due to providing gamers with the kind of secret-society, RPG vampire experience that other developers have completely abandoned in search of MOBAs, CCGs, and Battle Royale titles.

The Early Access version of Bloodlust 2: Nemesis lets you create a male or female vampire and select from three different classes, including Witch, Thief, or Warrior.

You can also sire others and build an army of vampires by biting them. You’ll explore dungeons, cities, and secret locations spread across a non-linear world filled with quests and NPCs to interact with.

You can see what the first half hour of the gameplay is like along with the create-a-character with the video below from Two Drink Minimum.

To be an indie title you actually gain access to a lot of character creation traits, including being able to modify your attributes, choose the vampire clan affiliation, and even modify your character’s appearance, ranging from hair styles to hair colors to tattoos.

The game features a variety of vampire abilities to hone and improve, and a dark Gothic world for you to explore.

The combat looks kind of unpolished and disjointed at the moment, but it is still in Early Access so there’s a possibility of it being improved. WRF Studios expects to spend the next six to nine months polishing up the game, so we’ll see if they can refine some of the jerky combat animations and give the hit reactions smoother timing in connection to the hit detection.

The current version is basically feature complete but the team is still look to fix bugs and flesh out the game based on community feedback and suggestions. You can learn more about Bloodlust 2: Nemesis by visiting the Steam store page.
