At EVO 2018, Bandai Namco has revealed two more characters in the roster of Soul Calibur VI, which happens to be Astaroth and Seong Mi-Na. Soul Calibur VI is currently slated to release this year across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
If you recall correctly, we published a piece back on February 27th, 2018, featuring a tweet of producer Motohiro Okubo showing Astaroth in his leather strapped outfit with his center flesh exposed. And lo and behold, it seems that Okubo was actually teasing Astaroth well ahead of his August 5th debut.
As expected, he brings visceral and extreme rage to the battlefield using his Axe to close the gap when he’s not grabbing opponents. From stomping to bashing, this is no doubt a bully character at its finest. But don’t take my word for it, you be the judge:
Did you catch that at the end of the above trailer? Yes, two characters have been revealed at EVO 2018, where a long-running character in the series — sporting a breezy outfit that shows off underboob — comes that of Seong Mi-Na.
Seong Mi-Na brings a lot of technique, reach, and speed into the mix. Adopting Kilik’s reach and ability to keep opponents away while using the speed of someone, say, like Tilam to close distance, and technique that opts for surprise strikes — a bit like Yoshimitsu except without the overtly strange moves — are all at play in her move set.
So far, I’m really looking forward to Soul Calibur VI. While we wait for the game to drop, I do wonder who else will be announced as part of the base and post roster? I know Cervantes will be a spot filler, but until then I guess we’ll have to see how things play out.
Soul Calibur VI is set to release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 19th, 2018.
