Streets Of Rage 4 Trailer Reveals New Art Style

Known to some gamers as Bare Knuckle and Streets of Rage to others, it looks like Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Lizardcube have announced Streets of Rage 4. The game continuing Sega’s trilogy of 2D side-scrolling action has been revealed, showing off a new art style.

The same publisher behind Wonder Boy and Windjammers 1 and 2, as well as the same developers of Wonder Boy, have revealed the continuation of Sega’s Streets of Rage series through Streets of Rage 4. The all-new arcade brawler series, though, has a new art style at play that differs from the old-school pixel art.

After many years, Axel and Blaze are back where the game that they’re in, Streets of Rage 4, builds upon the trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a new story and a “gauntlet of dangerous stages” with a serious crime problem.

According to the devs, Streets of Rage 4 hones classic gameplay mechanics but stands as an entirely “original arcade-style romp” due to the “expertise” of Guard Crush Games and Dotemu.

Moreover, the game will feature co-op play where if you grow tired of beating up gangs and cleaning up the streets solo, another person can help join you in the act of stifling the rage on the streets.

Furthermore, you can read over the official description or watch the reveal trailer on Dotemu’s YouTube channel right here:

“Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.”

Right now, there are no platforms announced or a set release date. However, the game will likely hit the usual platforms, but until then you can head on over to the game’s official website to learn more about Streets of Rage 4.
