The BlackBerry Still Lives With The BlackBerry Key2 Smartphone

The BlackBerry Key2 was recently released on July 13th of this year. The company TCL have made some tweaks and upgrades to the new BlackBerry Key2. The BlackBerry Key2 has a redesigned look to start off with; the more sleek and sturdy 7 Series aluminum 4.5-inch smartphone is thinner than it’s predecessor the BlackBerry Key1, and the physical QWERTY keyboard on the BlackBerry Key2 now has matte finished keys that are 20% larger than the Key 1, and the processor in the Key2 has also been upgraded, it now sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip, while the Key1 featured a 625 Snapdragon chip.

The BlackBerry Key2 comes in two color options, Black or Silver, and all the outer operating buttons are now placed on the right side of the handset. The traditional four row layout keyboard is still the same, but the keys have been reshaped, sculpted and finished in a matte texture making them easier to scroll, to type on, and much easier to swipe up and down, left and right. A nice feature added is the speed key, in the lower right corner are 9 dots which is the speed key, this speed key offers 2 short cuts, with one providing a Secure Locker for placing apps for security purposes.

The Blackberry Key2 operating system is Android reborn – Oreo 8.1, with a resolution of 1080 x 1620 IPS LCD, and Corning Gorilla Glass and a much smaller bezel to accommodate the larger keyboard. Under the hood sports a 6GB of RAM, Adreno 512 GPU, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, the 128GB offers a dual SIM support, with expandable mircoSD card. Talk has it that the 3,500mAh battery fully charged can last up to 2 to 3 days under average usage before having to recharge, and for a quick battery recharge, Quick Charge 3.0 is available for a 50% recharge in 36 minutes. The Key2 still sports the 3.5mm headphone jack port, and a USB-C port, with two bottom speakers.

The Key2 offers one 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and dual rear 12-megapixel sensor camera, one of the 12mp is for 2x optical zoom purposes, and for videos it has a 4K resolution digital stabilization. The BlackBerry Key2 is set-up for GSM carriers, and retails for $649.99, it can be purchased unlocked from Amazon.com and Best Buy in the United States.
