Apple’s September Event Announced 4 Software Release Updates In September

Apple announced at its recent September event four software release dates for iOS 12, tvOS 12, watchOS 5, and macOS Mojave. [Note: Group FaceTime will not be released on the scheduled release dates for iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, Apple is expected to make an announcement when the feature is available later this year.]

The largest update of the four is expected to be iOS 12, the release date is schedule for September 17th. Apple first announced all of its upcoming software updates at the WWDC on June 4th 2018, with the iOS 12 several public betas have been released, now the final public release for iOS 12 will occur on September 17th.

Apple.com website states that iOS 12 is designed to make the iPhone and iPad experience even faster, with better performance and more responsive. iOS 12 is said to be all about speed and how fast the response experience is while using your device. Apple states iOS 12 software should deliver up to 70% faster swipe to the camera, up to 50% faster keyboard display, and up to 2 times faster app launch under heavy workload. IOS 12 software improved performance will support devices from the iPhone 5s and iPad Air.

Users can easily create Memoji to use in Messages and FaceTime, and four new Animojis have been added to the group, including: koala, tiger, ghost and T. rex.

A new AR app called Measure will allow users to measure real-world objects just by pointing the camera at them, and AR objects can now be sent with Messages and Mail. Screen Time will make users more aware how the device time is used through-out the day.

Notifications Center now allows users more options on receiving messages on the device, this includes the “Do Not Disturb” notification. Photo Sharing is a new way of sharing photos right from an event, and Siri Shortcuts, users can now take shortcuts with your voice or create a shortcut on your own with the Shortcut app. These are just some of the major features included in iOS 12, with plenty more new enhancements.

tvOS 12 release date is expected on Sepember 17th as well. According to Macworld the new update features will support Dolby Atmos. Apple plans to offer the largest collection of Dolby Atmos supported movies. A new aerial screensaver of the planet Earth will be included with tvOS 12, and Apple TV will now be able to detect your broadband network and automatically sign you in. Users who have an Apple TV – Fourth-Gen and later should be able to run tvOS 12.

watchOS is the installed operating system for all Apple watches, Techradar states the new features coming to watchOS 5 will debut on September 17 and users can expect to see features including Activity Sharing competitions, auto-workout detection, advanced running features, Walkie-Talkie, Apple Podcasts and third-party apps on the Siri watchface. OS 5 software will also bring Yoga and Hiking to track active calories burned and exercise minutes earned, and for runners a new features for both indoor and outdoor runs as well as walks will be featured in OS 5, another new feature to look-out for is called Walkie-Talkie, this feature will allow users to speak to a friend who also has an Apple Watch.

The macOS Mojave – release date is schedule for September 24th. The macOS Mojave will bring new features such as a redesigned Mac app store, and a choice of choosing either the Light Appearance or the new Dark Mode background, also introducing two new time-shifting desktops that can match the hour of the day, regardless wherever you are. Now macOS Mojave allows easy file management, users can arrange by images, documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs. Users can also group work by date.
