Assetto Corsa Competizione, Realistic Racing Sim Enters Early Access On Steam For $24.99

Italian developer Kunos Simulazioni announced that Assetto Corsa Competizione has entered into Early Access on Steam for $24.99. The game will stay in Early Access for the next five months and there will be six builds that will release to those who purchase the Early Access edition, giving them access to the new content along the way until the full release in February of 2019.

The starting content will be bare bones but Kunos Simulazioni tries to assure fans that there will be new cars, new tracks, and new content arriving at regular intervals until the game is complete.

As noted in the Early Access FAQ, the earlier you buy the game the cheaper it is; each new build will bring new content and will raise the price until it launches at full price.

Not everyone is elated at the idea of paying upfront now on the promise of getting content later. A few Steam users have expressed their own frustrations with having only a limited number of accessible cars and tracks at the moment, and for the dearth of content.

However, the people discontent at the Early Access roll out are certainly in the minority, as the majority of user reviews praise Kunos for the physics, the difficulty, and the realism, with a few people calling it the “Dark souls of racing games”.
