Dead or Alive 6’s Nyotengu Is Pre-Order DLC; Japan Gets 3D Mousepads, Body Sheets
Dead or Alive 6 Marie Rose

A new Tokyo Game Show trailer has been released for Dead or Alive 6, revealing that it will be launching on February 15th, 2019 next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The trailer also reveals that one of the game’s most popular characters is also returning, Marie Rose. We don’t see much of her but she’s accompanied by Ayane and Honoka. Another popular character, Bayman, will also make the cut.

You can check out the trailer below.

It appears to be a story trailer, but we don’t get much story. We do see that the Kraken seems to play some part in the cinematics, and that there’s also a Jurassic Park inspired stage where a T-Rex will chomp at the fighter if they get knocked into the fence. Another stage reveals that there’s a waterslide that the pugilists can be knocked onto, but we don’t see what happens when they do fall onto the slide.

The trailer rounds out by revealing that the American and European release of Dead or Alive 6 will be available in a deluxe edition that comes with access to the Phase-4 DLC. The deluxe edition includes Nyotengu, the official soundtrack, 25 bonus costumes, the official game book, and exclusive costumes for Kasumi along with an additional character, the Kasumi Clone named Phase-4.

As noted in the trailer description, Nyotengu will also be available as DLC for anyone who pre-orders the game, where is states…

“PlayStation 4 owners who pre-order digitally will score a unique DOA6 theme as well as obtaining “The Female Tengu” Nyotengu as a playable character. […]

“For our fighters on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that digitally purchase #DOA6 by March 14th, 2019, will receive a bonus costume for Kasumi. For our fighters on Steam that purchase the game by March 14th, 2019, will collect the Kasumi costume as Nyotengu as a downloadable character.”

Over on the official Dead or Alive website they also reveal that Nyotengu will be available at later date to purchase as separate DLC for those who missed out on purchasing her as pre-order DLC.

What’s more is that Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have a completely separate trailer for the Japanese, though, which you can view below.

As you can see, the trailer is 16 seconds longer and features a brief look at Nyotengu as pre-order DLC.

The trailer also rounds out with a look at the game’s special edition in Japan, which is not available for European or American consumers.

The Japanese version comes with three 3D mousepads, one of which features a new mystery character. The other two includes Marie Rose with her butt in the air while wearing her Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 swimsuit, and the last one includes Honoka in a wet school girl blouse with her pink-and-white bikini from Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 visible underneath the wet blouse.

Dead or Alive 6 - Japanese Special Edition

The Japanese special edition also comes with five bathroom posters, and a body sheet featuring Ayane in her original ninja garb, and Kasumi in her default kunoichi outfit.

According to the official Gamecity website, the Japanese special edition of Dead or Alive 6 also comes with all of the content from the deluxe edition as well, which will run you ‎¥25,800, which translates into $232 USD.

Producer Yohei Shimbori had mentioend in the past that some of the standard characters would appear as post-launch DLC due to how far behind they are with finishing up the roster. Even though the game is due out in February, 2019, the team was only 20% complete back in August, 2018. So they have six months to finish 80% of the game, including the physics, the stages, the rest of the roster (which is supposed to be 25 characters in total), and the costumes.
