Immortal: Unchained, Dark Sci-Fi ARPG Launches For Xbox One, PS4, PC

The third-person action-RPG from Toadman Interactive, Sold Out and Game Odyssey called Immortal: Unchained has officially launched for PC, PS4, and for the Xbox One, along with support for the Xbox One X and its advanced features.

The game centers around a celestial savior who is finally unchained from his eternal prison where he attempts to acquire high-end weapons, defeat brutal foes, and attempt to save the cosmos from a catastrophic event.

The launch trailer for the game gives you a small taste of what to expect from the game, but don’t expect a lot of solid gameplay clips in the trailer. Most of it is in-engine or cinematics with small spurts of third-person action sprinkled in in-between.

The game attempts to mix the Soulsborne concept with third-person over-the-shoulder shooting. It creates this kind of hack-and-slash, projectile-based hybrid that’s a little bit like a cross between The Surge and Too Human.

The combat at least appears to give you a solid mixture of back-and-forth melee and TPS action, so you can seamlessly switch between hacking and slashing enemies or shooting them down with a variety of weapons.

The development studio is also currently working on additional updates for the game, as well as patches so that it can take advantage of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X hardware.

A lot of people are in love with the “Children of the Sun” instrumental from Thomas Bergersen.

Others were more interested how the trailer garnered so many views in such a short amount of time.

I imagine that a game like Immortal Unchained is going to have an uphill sales battle given that it’s launching right in between Marvel’s Spider-Man and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Nevertheless, if you were interested in learning more, you can do so by visiting the official website.
