SJWs Try To Make Sesame Street’s Bert And Ernie Gay, But Frank Oz Isn’t Having It
Bert and Ernie Gay

Sesame Street writer Mark Saltzman told Queerty in an interview published on September 16th, 2018 that Bert and Ernie were gay. After joining the TV show production back in 1984, Saltzman explained to Queerty that he was already full-fledged gay, and that he intended to portray his lifestyle through the puppets in a kid’s show.

In the interview, Saltzman tells the outlet he used Bert and Ernie as a way to relate to his own gay relationship, saying…

“I remember one time that a column from The San Francisco Chronicle, a preschooler in the city turned to mom and asked “are Bert & Ernie lovers?” And that, coming from a preschooler was fun. And that got passed around, and everyone had their chuckle and went back to it. And I always felt that without a huge agenda, when I was writing Bert & Ernie, they were. I didn’t have any other way to contextualize them. The other thing was, more than one person referred to Arnie & I as “Bert & Ernie.”

[…] “That’s what I had in my life, a Bert & Ernie relationship. How could it not permeate? The things that would tick off Arnie would be the things that would tick off Bert. How could it not? I will say that I would never have said to the head writer, “oh, I’m writing this, this is my partner and me.” But those two, Snuffalupagus, because he’s the sort of clinically depressed Muppet…you had characters that appealed to a gay audience. And Snuffy, this depressed person nobody can see, that’s sort of Kafka! It’s sort of gay closeted too.”

This was quickly reported by Left-leaning outlets pushing the SJW agenda, such as NBC News, E! Online and USA Today to name but a few.

This, however, didn’t go down to well with the normal fans of the show, nor the show’s creator, nor the creator of the puppets, Frank Oz.

According to TMZ, a spokesperson for Sesame Street reached out to clear the air before the Wikipedia entry turned into a battleground of Leftist propaganda, and news outlets got too out of hand with pushing the agenda on pre-schoolers. The spokesperson told TMZ…

“As we have always said, Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves.”

SJWs on Twitter became angered at this point, but it didn’t faze puppeteer Frank Oz. Over on Twitter Frank rebuffed the Saltzman claim, stating that for the sake of “honesty” he wanted to clarify that Bert and Ernie were just friends and were not gay.

Given that Leftists dominate Twitter, Frank was bombarded with the Rainbow Reich trying to force his opinion to change, but Frank stayed firm, noting that as a performer and creator of many of the iconic Muppets, he was steadfast in getting the point across that the duo were not gay.

Many were just glad that Frank Oz was still alive to rebut the claims made by Saltzman.

One thing that we’ve come to recognize from the SJW agenda is to rewrite history. Historical revisionism is one of the key ways in which proponents of Leftism attempt to influence and inculcate youth with their subversion.

Battlefield V

Recently we’ve seen how one of the most celebrated historical-based shooter franchises was turned into Leftist agitprop, with Battlefield V completely rewriting World War II in order to promote the idea that non-binary folk and bionic British women served on the frontlines of war, which is of course false.

When historians called out Electronic Arts and DICE for rewriting history and defacing the sacrifices made by the brave men who served in World War II, a former EA executive called those critics “uneducated” and the moderators of the biggest Battlefield discussion forums censored all discussion related to historical accuracy.

Nevertheless, the Left is fixated on indoctrination children with the SJW agenda, as we’ve seen recently with shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe. In this particular case, Frank Oz and the rest of the heads at Sesame Street were quick to shoot down Saltzman’s claims about Bert and Ernie being gay.
