GATE Anime’s First Season Launches On Steam With English Subtitles
Gate Jieitai Kanoichi Nite

Sentai Filmworks’ 2015 anime, GATE, has recently made its way onto the Steam platform. Yes, Valve didn’t just open up the floodgates for sexy-time games, visual novels for weebs, and lots and lots of ecchi and H-game content. Valve also opened up the floodgates for movies, television series, documentaries, and… yes, anime.

You can actually purchase the entire first season of GATE right now for $69.99, which contains 24 full episodes. The anime is depicted in its original format, complete with the Japanese audio. There is also English subtitles, so you don’t have to worry about cringing your way through English dubbing that makes you want to claw at your eardrums and scream at the top of your lungs.

Steam isn’t too far behind the original English dub release of GATE, which first made its way onto the market by Sentai Filmworks back on July 11th, 2017.

However, if you would rather get the subtitled version, you can definitely do so.

The story centers around a portal that opens up in the Tokyo Ginza district, where a dimensional anomaly sends dragons, soldiers, and demons into modern day Japan.

A dedicated Otaku named Itami was in the area to pick up his favorite doujinshi series only to inadvertently become the hero of the day and instantly get promoted to second lieutenant of the Self-Defense Force.

Itami ends up being sent through the portal to fight against the monsters and demons, and he ends up viewing the world through the eyes of an Otaku.

Even though the Steam page says that it came out back in 2015, it was only released on the actual Steam store recently, which is why there are no user reviews and no comments on the discussion thread.

Nevertheless, if you wanted to view an anime with strong sexual content, lots of gore and violence, and a good ‘ole Otaku-style story, you can do so by checking out GATE over on the Steam store page.

Also, keep in mind that purchasing anime content from the store is not eligible for a refund.
