In the mood for some super-weeby nep-nep goodness? Well, Idea Factory International has you covered. The lewdified, VR-enabled Megadimension Neptunia VIIR launched on Steam back on October 22nd, and you have a limited amount of time to get in on the VR title’s launch week discount of being 25% off the normal price, so you can pick yourself up the action-RPG for just $29.99 instead of the launch price of $39.99.
The Steam version of the game also comes with a complete deluxe edition and the deluxe DLC bundle pack. The complete deluxe edition comes with 12 items, including the full version of the game for $62.88, but during the launch week it’s available for 24% off at only $47.58.
A separate DLC bundle pack is also available for those of you who have the base game but also want to get your hands on all of the additional DLC. The bundle pack for the extra content will run you $49.98, or you can get it for 28% off during the launch week for $35.98.
Now, while the game is themed around VR compatibility for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, you can very well play the game without any VR HMDs. And even if you do have an HMD, the game does not support motion-based VR controllers.
The game is basically just an enhanced version of 2016’s Megadimension Neptunia VII, with improved graphics, a revamped battle system, and the implementation of VR features. You can see how the game plays out with the video below from YouTube outlet Red’s 3rd Dimension Gaming.
The new VR features allow you to enter into the player’s room and customize the room to your liking, as well as spending some one-on-one face time with each of the characters.
This is the kind of intimate, interactive mode that you probably won’t ever see on the PS4 in any forthcoming game now that Sony’s new anti-fan service policy is in place, which is designed to restrict the amount of fan-service that can appear on the PS4.
Anyway, you can pick up a digital copy of the game right now from the Steam store.
