[Update:] According to DSO Gaming, you can restore the boob physics in the PC version of the game by limiting the frame-rate to 30fps, which is the same frame-rate that the game runs on the Nintendo Switch. So far there hasn’t been any fixes found to restore full boob physics on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
[Original article:] The Nintendo Switch version of Warriors Orochi 4 may have some serious frame-rate and performance issues, but it’s the only version of the game that has completely uncensored boob physics, leading some gamers to believe that it’s now the definitive version of the game (just until modders can figure out how to restore the boob physics on the PC version).
Gamers have been posting examples of the Nintendo Switch version of Warriors Orochi 4, and it supports boob jiggling in the model viewer mode, camp mode, and in-game, as evident in the tweet from Skelleric.
[Update:] The video from the tweet was posted up on YouTube after the user requested the tweet be removed from the article.
The PS4 version lacks boob physics in the camp menu, as evident in the tweet from Globsch.
The PC and Xbox One versions of the game also mirror the PS4 version, with many gamers assuming that it’s because Koei did a quick and dirty port of the PS4 version onto PC and Xbox One, while the Switch version was what was originally intended for the game. You can see the video below of the Xbox One version of Warriors Orochi 4 courtesy of ZeroBeat1.
This isn’t just some one off or a glitch for a certain character. All of the female characters on the PS4 version have rock solid boobs in the model viewer, as evident with the view below from Jerz.
A more direct comparison shows that even when the same characters are on screen, the Switch version retains the jiggle but not the other platform versions, like in the demonstration below from ZenkaiGaming at the 2:08 mark.
And just to show that this isn’t limited to the Western version, there’s also a video clip of the Japanese version of Warriors Orochi 4, showing that boob physics are not present in the Japanese version of the game, as evident in the first few seconds of the video below from rxmako.
Now the Switch version of Warriors Orochi 4 with the exact same character shows that the boob physics are indeed still intact for all the female characters, as evident in the first four seconds of the video below from Yamatufa Gaming.
Now some gamers believed that perhaps Koei Tecmo bugged the Nintendo Switch version and that there weren’t supposed to be boob physics, but in order for boob physics to be present the boobs have to be rigged up beforehand and the physics properties have to be set within the engine.
Also, you can see remnants of the boob physics in some of the moves that the female characters perform on the Xbox One, PC and PS4 versions of the game. ZeroBeat1 posted up a video showing that in the model viewer of the Xbox One version there are still small amounts of jiggle physics still present, even though they’ve been removed from the camp menu screen.
So Koei appears to have removed most of the jiggle physics at the last minute in both the Western version of the game and the Japanese version of the game for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
As pointed out by Steam user EndSignal, when he was asked if the PC version had jiggle physics, he pointed out that it was basically a direct port from the PS4…
“Nope. we got a PS4 port, it looks like. I don’t particularly care either way if it’s in or not, but I don’t like Sony’s recent puritanical crusade affecting me in any way shape or form.”
The most logical conclusion that gamers have come to is that Koei Tecmo removed the boob physics in the PS4 version and its trickle-down ports on Xbox One and PC as part of Sony’s new anti-fan service policy.
This seems to make the most sense given that Sony forbade the release of Super Seducer on the PS4 since the game was aimed at straight males. Sony also forced XSeed Games to remove the Intimacy Mode from Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, which allowed gamers to jiggle the boobs of the girls in the dressing room. Sony also prohibited PQube releasing Omega Labyrinth Z in the West on the PS4, which was another fan-service game with interactive boob physics. Sony also had the developers of Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart to censor all ecchi content in the visual novel on the PS4 version of the game. The Switch version, however, along with the Vita version, were left uncensored.
Sony, however, has no problems with sexual content aimed at the LGBTQ community, as indicated by the fact that the company has been promoting the uncensored release of the gay dating simulator Dream Daddy on the PS4.
Warriors Orochi 4 is available right now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. However, if you want access to the model viewer boob physics, you’ll have to purchase the Switch version of the game.
I reached out to Koei Tecmo regarding the issue and if they choose to respond the article will be updated with their response.
