Black Desert Online Open Beta Is Free To Download On Xbox One Until Nov 12th
Black Desert Online

Pearl Abyss’ Black Desert Online has officially entered into the beta testing phase for the Xbox One and with enhancements for the Xbox One X. The free open beta is available right now for download on the Xbox One and will be available up until November 12th next Monday.

You can download the free open beta client for the Xbox One from over on the Microsoft store page.

The beta clocks in at 23.5GB, so you’ll need to ensure that you have plenty of space free for the client.

The beta will support HDR and 4K upsclaing for those of you with a 4K TV and an Xbox One X.

The highlight for Black Desert Online is in its high-quality waifu bait, as showcased in the trailer above. It gives gamers a lot of opportunities to (re)create some especially hot waifus using the game’s specially designed character creation suite.

Some of the highlights include the non-targeting combat system, the ability to manage businesses and make coin on the side, and plenty of side-quests and mini-games to partake. The combat in particular is quite dynamic and is equivalent to what you would expect from a hack-and-slash action-RPG from Platinum Games.

Unfortunately, the game is also riddled with pay-to-win mechanics, an extremely aggressive microtransaction system, and recently the developer was involved with a lawsuit where the publisher in South Korea, Kakao Games, has been suing gamers who were critical of the South Korean version of Black Desert Online. They tried getting him to pay a large lump sum in addition to deleting his blog posts about the game, but they ended up settling for deleting his account.

Yeah… it’s that bad.

Nevertheless, if you wanted to check out the MMORPG on the Xbox One, you can do so right now up until November 12th… for free. The game is also available on PC but it requires an entry price to play.
