Crackdown 3 System Requirements Are Fairly Low-End

Crackdown 3 Specs

If you plan on playing Crackdown 3 on PC, you won’t need a mega-rig to play the game. In fact, a potato by today’s standards might be suited for handling the minimum specs for Crackdown 3, and that’s no joke.

During the X018 convention in Mexico, Microsoft announced that Crackdown 3 would be launching in February in 2019 for the Xbox One and on the Windows Store for PC.

They released a spec sheet with the system requirements for Crackdown 3. The minimum specs are a heck of lot lower than you may have been expecting.

On the minimum spec side, you’ll need:

  • Windows 10 64-bit or higher.
  • DirectX 12 API
  • CPU: Intel i5 3470 | AMD FX-6300
  • GPU: Geforce 750Ti | Radeon HD 7850
  • RAM: 8GB
  • VRAM: 2GB

Recommended specs:

  • Windows 10 64-bit or higher.
  • DirectX 12 API
  • CPU: Intel i5 4690 | AMD FX-8350
  • GPU: Geforce 970 | Radeon RX 480
  • RAM: 8GB
  • VRAM: 4GB

Surprisingly, the GPU and CPU specs are a heck of a lot lower than what I was expecting.

This means that you’re looking at a game that’s basically running on some pretty modest specs on PC, even at the upper end of the spectrum, with only a standard Geforce 970 being the recommended GPU for those who want to max out the game’s visual settings.

Obviously, much of this can be attributed to the fact that the multiplayer portion of the game is reliant on Microsoft’s cloud servers, which will be handling the full-scale city destruction.

Very briefly we were able to see what the multiplayer will play like with a demonstration at the X018 event.

I can’t say any part of the game looked impressive. The physics-based destruction was all standard-fare and vanilla, and the combat was fairly basic. I can imagine it being kind of fun blowing up buildings for a couple of hours during the first month of release and then it’s going to get real boring, real fast.

The only saving grace is if the single-player is going to be a solid, well-paced, high-impact action fest but I’m kind of doubting that given that we haven’t seen any of the single-player campaign… yet. You can look for Crackdown 3 to launch in February in 2019 for PC and Xbox One.
