A gamer discovered that there’s a hidden boob bounce feature in the version of Nekopara Vol. 1 on the PlayStation 4. The game had to be heavily censored due to Sony’s new censorship policy, but even still they managed to include a little bit of that sugar and spice that made Nekopara a sexy and popular visual novel in the first place.
User flybydeath made a post on the sub-reddit Kotaku In Action after he spotted a video from Youtube user Rorta, who uploaded a quick 40 second clip showcasing a hidden boob jiggle feature in the PS4 version of the game. You can check out the video below.
If you go into the config screen from the main menu, and then go to the tab marked “Effect & Sound”. From here you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of the menu and then go down one option further. Move the left analog left or right to increase or decrease bounciness. This is where the option to increase the boob jiggle was supposed to be, so the developers apparently removed the GUI asset for the slider but not the function for the slider itself.
Now the funny part about it is that for the game to be released on the PS4, Neko Works had to remove the setting in the options menu that allowed you to increase or decrease the boob jiggle physics. Don’t expect the setting to stay for long, though.
Neko Works also had to remove all of the sexy ecchi images as well, even though the non-hardcore images still found their way into the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Yes, the Switch version of Nekopara Vol. 1 is rated ‘M’ for Mature while the PS4 version was originally rated ‘E’ for Everyone before the ESRB switch it to an ‘M’ rating, as reported by Spiel Times.
The game had to be heavily censored on the PS4 due to Sony’s new censorship policy where games featuring fan-service aimed at straight males either has to be removed, censored, or toned down. This has affected multiple games that have recently released or are about to release, including games only releasing in Asia, such as Silverio Trinity, or Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart. Even the Chinese release of Mary Skelter 2 was affected by the censorship policy.
The policy also prevents future Senran Kagura games from including the Intimacy Mode, which was a staple feature in the series up until now.
A Marvelous Entertainment development partner started a petition to convince Sony to abandon the censorship policy, but Sony seems adamant to stay the course. Thankfully, developers like Neko Works are taking cheeky steps to circumvent the censorship.
