YS Net Details Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Backer And Funding Progress

Whatever your thoughts may be of YS Net and Shenmue 3, you now have something else to think about which comes in the form of a Kickstarter update. The 93rd update details the number of backers and funds Shenmue 3 has accrued via said crowdfunding program.

Shenmue 3 has faced delays in its past, most notably we can see this on the official Kickstarter “Update” page for the action-adventure game showing multiple delay dates. Well, as of now, the game is set to come out next year (2019) across PC and PS4.

In addition to the above, the latest update on the crowdfunding platform notes that August 27th, 2019, will be the official due date… assuming the third installment doesn’t face yet another hiccup.

Anyway, the 93rd update on Kickstarter reads:

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since the last update, sorry to have kept you all waiting. The final numbers for the funding and backer totals across all the campaigns are in, so we wanted to share those with you today.

Backers: 81,087

Funding Total: $7,179,510

Quite an impressive score, isn’t it!? Seeing the final numbers, all of us here can’t help but feel all over again the immensity of the support everyone has given to make this project come true! Thank you!

There are now less than 10 months left until the release date on August 27, 2019! Everyone on the team is giving it all they got every day in the run-up to the release, and we hope we can continue to count on your support.

The update goes on a bit more, but the post announces the final crowdfunding total of $7,179,510 for Shenmue 3 and a total from 81,087 supporters. Do know that the given numbers include the $6.33 million contributed by the original 69,320 backers of the first Kickstarter campaign back in 2015’s summer, with additional monetary units coming from the “Slacker Backer” campaign.

If you want to get in on the action that continues the story of the first 1999 game and the 2001 sequel, then you have the 27th of August, 2019, to look forward to when the third title ships across PC and PS4.
