Thanks to publication site personacentral.com we learn that in issue #1570 of the Weekly Famitsu that a batch of New Year cards from different developers surfaced, and one of them holds something special from Atlus.

The card from Atlus notes the following information:

“Starting with Catherine: Full Body, we are steadily preparing unannounced new titles. Please look forward to a follow-up report of Shin Megami Tensei V, as well.”

The letter teases the possibility of upcoming news set for 2019, stuff related to Catherine: Full Body, Shin Megami Tensei V, and unannounced games too.

As mentioned in the header paragraph, back during the mid-part of 2018 publication site ryokutya2089.com offered highlights from producer Yamai on Shin Megami Tensei V development as seen below:

  • Yamai and crew are working hard on Shin Megami Tensei V, and development is in full force.
  • Demons to new characters and “mostly everything” is currently “running on the hardware.”
  • The devs are making Shin Megami Tensei V with content appropriate for a numbered title, and they’re doing it without any compromises.

Taking a look back at an older interview released in February of 2018, publication site 4Gamer and Yamai had a talk that gamestalk.net picked up where highlights from said site sit below:

  • Many core staff that the game started with during the beginning of its development are slowly increasing. More people continue to sign on to help the development of Shin Megami Tensei V, which sees Atlus rounding up a considerable amount of staff. Atlus has reached a point where it seems like a turning point where the team can say the game is actually “in the making.”
  • As the first console game in a long time, Atlus wants to make a game that people can enjoy playing on their TV.
  • Atlus also considers a handheld system that can provide fun through demon fusion while laying down.
  • The current goal is to make a title made for both console and a handheld device.
  • Atlus wants to include a lot of demons, as well as make a game tailored to the system’s hardware specs.
  • Shin Megami Tensei V will have three times the amount of effort put into the demons compared to previous titles.
