The very first trailer for Disney’s Avengers: Endgame didn’t start with roses and sunshine. The second movie picks up where the first movie left off, with Tony drifting off into space on a ship running out of resources, Captain America and Black Widow mourning the loss of their friends, and Hawkeye having turned into Ronin.
The trailer is pretty dark and quite depressing. It’s two and a half minutes long and pretty much devoid of any kind of action or big set pieces or bombastic heroics. Instead it’s a melancholy piece where the surviving members of the Avengers and those who weren’t turned to dust reflect on what’s left and what methods they could possibly take to restore the universe to what it once was.

Majority of the trailer focuses on Captain America and Black Widow trying to figure out what they’re going to do to save the universe. Scott Lang ends up popping by to get some help, but this left a lot of commenters on the YouTube channel scratching their head because the end of Ant-Man 2 left viewers with a lot of questions about how exactly Ant-Man managed to get out of the quantum zone?
I’m sure they’ll answer that question in the movie.
The bigger question is how will Steve Rogers and Black Widow get to Thanos?
Maybe Thor, who is now a bum on the streets, will help them?
Most people suspect that Tony Stark will be saved by Captain Mary Sue – oops, I mean Captain Marvel. And that seems likely given that at the end of Avengers: Infinity War Nick Fury sent out a message to Captain Marvel asking for her help.
So it’s likely that she’ll come to the rescue of Stark just before he runs out of oxygen completely.
How the remaining members of the Avengers will get to Thanos is still up in the air. But I suppose that’s why they want you to watch the movie, eh?
Avengers: Endgame is due out on April 26th, 2019.
