Judge Eyes Heads West To PS4 In Summer of 2019 As Judgment
Judgment PS4 Release

Sega announced that Judge Eyes will be making its way Westward next year for PS4 gamers during the summer of 2019 as Judgment. Yes, it received an ever-so-slight name change (and could possibly undergo some censorship depending on Sony’s mood) but essentially the same game that was released in Japan will be released in the West.

The news was dropped by Sega via a tweet on December 8th, 2018 along with the gameplay and story trailer. They revealed that you’ll be able to play a localized version of the game in the summer of 2019.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s action crime game is getting the full localization treatment. With the new trailer revealing that there will now be English voiceovers. Players take on the role of investigator Takayuki Yagami, as he attempts to unravel a series of murders involving three Yakuza enforcers. After the original suspect is acquitted of the crimes, Yagami decides to dig deeper.

The trailer reveals that there is corruption afoot and that players will have to attempt to find the real killer, codenamed The Mole.

I’m definitely not feeling the English voices, but a lot of people in the comment section with no class were excited to hear the Gaijin ruining the experience with a lack of nuance and nonsensical English phrases dubbed over the Japanese.

Thankfully, for those of us who prefer subs over dubs, Sega confirmed that Judgment will launch with dual audio. So if want to hear the English version, you can. But if you want to hear the original Japanese audio, you can.

The only downside is that since the Sony censorship policy affects games that are in development in Japan, we’ll never really know what has been censored for the game until it launches on another platform like PC.

Judge Eyes releases in Japan on December 13th, 2018, with the Western version, Judgment, set to launch roughly half a year later.
