Smartmove decided to get in on the virtual hunting genre with Mad Hunting Simulator VR, which sees players hunting down wildlife across a number of realistic environments, including hunting elk in the forests, zebras in the desert, and bears in the mountains.
The game is designed to capture the realism of hunting in the wilderness while using the HTC Vive or the Oculus Rift. You have the ability to utilize a lot of different natural elements within the environment to help you hunt down and take out the wildlife.
You’ll start off small, hunting bunnies and birds and slowly work your way up the food chain, hunting down elk, bears, and bison.
You can check out the gameplay trailer below to see what it’s like.
You start off inside of the hunter’s cabin, where you can work out with some weights, buff up your arms, and then go over to the table where there are various hunting rifles available. You’ll also have different ammo types to utilize while you go hunting.
You can put the ammo for each weapon on your ammo belt, much like Vertigo Games Arizona Sunshine. This is useful for when you go hunting and need to pump an animal with more lead than the ones on the morgue slab in Chicago.
You’ll have a variety of weapons at your disposal, too, including rifles, pistols, crossbows, and shotguns.
It utilizes room-scale and standing VR so you have to actually get your fat behind up off the chair, use both your motion wands like you’re doing a double jerk-off challenge, and rely on your pristine hand-eye coordination to rape animals to death with your virtual rifles.
You can pick up a digital copy of Mad Hunting Simulator VR from the Steam store for $29.99. During the first week of being on sale you can get the game for 40% off the normal purchasing price, so it’s available for just $17.99.
