If you were satisfied with the Marvel Cinematic Universe being passably entertaining schlock with root-worthy heroes and storylines that – if not captivating at least perfunctory – have done their job in conveying the core message of the characters and their plight from the world of the paperback comic books and into the realm of live-action, then prepare to have that satisfaction swept out from underneath you because that’s all about to change.
LRM quoted the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, who spoke to Variety on a recent podcast where he admitted that Marvel will be veering the cinematic universe into a direction filled with “diversity”. Feige stated…
“Yes, absolutely, sometimes people have asked very directly, ‘Is [Black] Panther a one-off?’ in terms of inclusion representation and the answer is no, it’s the beginning. That it worked out as well as it worked out just encourages to head in the direction that we were going to head anyway. You look at that film and the experience of the film, it was incredible. That movie, obviously, would not have been what it was if everyone sitting around the table looked like me or you and that’s actually true for all the movies. […]
“[…] As Marvel Studios has grown and as our creative team has grown, it’s the same thing. It’s almost half men, half women now. We try to grow and promote in-house, almost anybody that works around me has worked here for many, many years and people are going on the produce some of our next films came in below people producing the films now. When you have diverse voices, you get better stories and you get more exciting stories and you get more surprising stories and that is something very, very clear to us.”
We all know what this means: get woke, go broke.
Marvel’s comic books took a “diversity” turn for the worse, especially from 2012 up until present, and plenty of those comic books were widely derided by fans, forcing them to cancel a number of the books themed around “diversity”, netting them a comfy spot on the Get Woke, Go Broke Master List.
You absolutely do not destroy your successful properties with diversity unless you enjoy going bankrupt.
We saw what happened to Solo: A Star Wars Story after Disney got woke with Star Wars: The Last Jedi and decided to proclaim that the “Force” was “Female”. This was all part of their attempt to keep the anti-straight white male rhetoric rolling right out of the train station of bigotry.
As for Marvel… this isn’t new news.
There have been rumblings that the MCU was going to be including more Leftist-oriented propaganda when they proclaimed that LGBTQIA+ characters would be popping up in Phase 3 films for no discernible reason.
This kind of diversity is going to drive away the fans pretty quickly, and only embitter people who try to go to the movie theater to escape from all of the mentally ill craziness that has become pervasive in every other aspect of our society.
