Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist Release Delayed To 2019 For PC, PS4

Bandai Namco hasn’t been talking much about Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist, but the latest news surrounding the game is that it has been delayed from the winter 2018 release in Japan and the West to some undetermined time in 2019.

Siliconera is reporting that the game has suffered a delay, which was originally reported in the Famitsu magazine. Again, details on the delay were left vague and Bandai Namco hasn’t been talking much about the game.

In fact the last big news regarding Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist from the official Bandai Namco account was back in September, where new screenshots were released for the action-oriented game, where Bandai said the title would be releasing “soon” for PC and PS4.

If you check the Bandai Namco store page the new release date is now set tentatively for December 31st, 2019.

Following the release of the new screenshots there was another trailer that made its way around YouTube featuring new gameplay, which you can check out below courtesy of Freex3r.

The game is an action-oriented, hack-and-slash game, themed around the Tokyo Ghoul universe. The game allows you to take on the role of either a ghoul or an investigator, and engage in 4-vs-4 PvP in online multiplayer.

As far as the delay is concerned, we don’t know why the game was delayed specifically, but some people have already jumped to the conclusion that it was likely due to the Sony censorship policy that has run amok.

Whether it was due to the censorship policy or not we don’t know and Bandai isn’t making it known, but as the game draws closer to release we’ll likely find out exactly why the delay occurred.
