Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Update Adds Censored Outfit From Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Smash Bros Outfit

There have been images floating around of Mythra from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with rumors claiming that her outfit has been censored in the upcoming game for the Nintendo Switch in order to comply with the CERO and ESRB ratings so that it doesn’t get anything beyond E10+ for Everyone 10 and older, as noted by Sankaku Complex. However, it appears these aren’t just rumors anymore, but a fact.

YouTuber Miiks posted up a video following the November 30th, 2018 update that Monolith Soft rolled out for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The video features a new Massive Melee Mythra core for the character, which changes her outfit from the default outfit to the one she’s reportedly wearing from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This includes the boob-window for her cleavage being covered up and her legs being covered with skin-tight leggings.

You can see the demonstration of what happens when you add the new core and unlock the new outfit for the character in the video below.

[Update: Another video was uploaded by ziltama, showcasing the exact same footage as the video that was removed.]

The original outfit sees Mythra in a short mini-skirt with draught cutouts at the upper part of her hips. All her legs below the thigh line are exposed, along with a dipping exposure around the center decolletage that gives you an ample view of her boob window.

The censored version covers up the sexy bits, as pictured below.

Originally it was difficult to tell if the censorship actually took place since there was no confirmation from Nintendo, obviously because the images were allegedly leaked from a pirated copy of the game that was eventually dumped into ROM format for the Yuzu Switch emulator.

However, with the recent update to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 adding the outfit for Mythra, it’s basically confirmed that she will be censored in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

On the upside for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 owners, you can at least still see her in her original outfit, and the new outfit from Smash Bros., is added as an optional outfit. Still, this censorship did not go down well with the anti-censorship crowd at all.
