City Of Brass, Arabian Nights Action-Adventure Game Heads To Nintendo Switch February 8th

The former developers of BioShock teamed up to work on the game City Of Brass for PC and home consoles. The first-person adventure title originally entered into Early Access on Steam and then eventually made its way onto the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The developers at Uppercut Games have now announced that the game themed around Arabian Nights will now make its way onto the Nintendo Switch starting next month on February 8th.

According to the press release, the developers have been working on improving the game following its release on home consoles and PC. They’ve also been optimizing and refining the gameplay for the Switch, so that it plays as well as it looks.

The game was originally financed with assistance from the Australian Games Enterprise Program, which allowed Uppercut Games to start prototyping the idea and eventually release it into Early Access back in the middle of 2017. A year later the game then became available on the Xbox One and PS4 during the spring.

The concept centers around a young man who unearths a magic lamp that has a mystical genie inside. He’s granted an opportunity to acquire all the riches he can carry from within the City of Brass. However, things aren’t as simple as they sound, and the hero is put through a series of dangers all conjured up by the treasure-laden, and danger-heavy city.

You can see what the gameplay is like for City of Brass with the review below from ACG.

The gameplay is themed around some platforming elements while also making use of the whip and scimitar. You’ll have to fend off the magical creatures willing to bury you, while also avoiding all of the traps that spring up from within the city itself.

The object is to navigate your way through the procedurally generated levels to reach the treasure at the center of the city.

It’s not a typical first-person shooter but it will likely appeal to gamers who don’t mind rogue-lites or are interested in a game with Persian-themed aesthetic.

You can look for City of Brass to drop on the Nintendo Switch next month starting February 8th. For more information on the game feel free to visit the official City of Brass website.
