[Update 1/22/2019:] Deep Silver responded to some of the complaints about the Denuvo, claiming via a tweet response that including it in their games is part of their policy and that Metro: Exodus‘ performance won’t be affected by.
It is Deep Silver policy to protect our PC games with Denuvo, and we’ve worked with 4A Games to ensure this will not affect your experience

[Original article:] Ahead of the upcoming release of 4A Games’ Metro: Exodus, the Steam forums seem to be dissolving into unrest and discontent, mostly with people asking about whether the game will be plagued by SJW elements and how they don’t want to have to deal with Denuvo DRM. Well, the forum moderators have been going on a rampage, censoring, locking, and deleting the threads discussing the Denuvo DRM.
If you check the Steam forums for Metro: Exodus, it’s slowly starting to fill up with lots of threads complaining about the Denuvo DRM. Some users have told us that the threads are being deleted and censored, others are obviously being locked after gamers spotted that Denuvo anti-tamper DRM would be present, which has historically caused major performance issues in previous games.
The thread on January 13th, 2019 from Trig was locked when asking about Denuvo.
On January 21st, 2019 there was a thread from Travis titled “Denuvo? No buy.” 26 pages later it was locked.
On January 22nd, 2019 another thread was locked when the user [TW] Shadow begged the developers to “please remove Denuvo.
The moderators went from locking and deleting Denuvo threads to locking some of the threads talking about Social Justice Warriors. On January 21st, 2019 there was a thread from Spindle titled “Please no SJW nonsense developers”, which was locked just a few hours later.
There was another thread asking about SJWism, from back on January 14th, 2019 from Catatonic_Analytic, but it’s still open.
The user was worried about whether Social Justice Warrior propaganda would invade Metro: Exodus after viewing the story trailer from back on January 8th, 2019, and seeing some telltale signs of potential Leftist politics creeping up.
The trailer featuring the female voiceover of the character Anna — and mostly focusing her arduous journey of trying to trek across the post-apocalyptic wastelands via train — set off red flags for gamers on the Steam forum who thought that maybe 4A Games would be attempting to pull a Gears 5 or Battlefield V on them.
Arguments have gone back and forth whether the game will contain any SJW elements, with some saying that 4A won’t include SJW elements at all. However, some gamers are paranoid after how many other franchises have fallen to the propaganda scourge that has affected so many other games due to agenda-driven developers.
