OlliOlli: Switch Stance Launches Feb 14th On Nintendo Switch With 4-Player Support

Roll7 and Gambitious announced that the side-scrolling skateboarding game, OlliOlli: Switch Stance, will make its way to the Nintendo Switch for the very first time starting February 14th, 2019 next month on the Nintendo eShop for just $14.99.

The game will come bearing gifts, mostly in the form of four-player split-screen support, in addition to all of the other standard features that came packed into the game when it originally launched back in 2015.

OlliOlli features 120 different tricks to master, 50 different levels to ride through, and more than 250 challenges to conquer. There’s a Spots Mode, a Daily Grind, and an unlockable mode called RAD Mode, which will probably remind people of the movie of the same name from the 1980s about extreme bike sports. This new Switch version is actually a compilation of two of the previous games with the content combined into one big, special package.

You can check out the actual gameplay with the launch trailer below.

There’s a cool mixture of different levels, multiple routes per map, secrets to uncover, and two games packed into one package.

The visuals are sort of simplified with the minimalist aesthetic, but a lot of the appeal of OlliOlli is in the game’s free-flowing gameplay and streamlined mechanics.

The game has somewhat of a mobile-game feel to it, so I don’t know how well that’s going to sit with gamers looking for something of a certain caliber. Also, if you were hoping for something more akin to the classic Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, you’re probably disappointed that the game is relegated to a side-scrolling affair. But I guess for some developers working on new franchises and intellectual properties they have to take baby steps somewhere.

Nevertheless, if graphics aren’t an imposition for your fun-having habits, then you can look to pick up a digital copy from Good Shepherd Entertainment and Roll7 starting February 14th.
