PlayStation Plus January, 2019 Goes Live With Steep, Portal Knights, Zone Of The Enders

Zone of the Enders HD

Sony decided to start the new year with some okay games for once, as detailed over on the PlayStation Blog. While the PlayStation Plus subscriber community isn’t at all thrilled with the line-up, some of the games are captivating enough to warrant a playthrough.

For instance, if you missed out on Zone of the Enders for the PS2, you can grab the Zone of the Enders HD Collection for the PS3. Sony is still trying to milk some of the interest from Hideo Kojima fans in lieu of the upcoming Death Stranding.

There’s also the game Amplitude for the PS3, but I don’t think anyone gives a crap about that game. It’s a music-rhythm racing game of sorts. I’m sure it will appeal to the handful of people out there who want an Audiosurf-style game for the PS3.

You can check out some gameplay with the video below from Jon Dent.

PS Vita gamers are screwed either way because that poor handheld is about as destitute as a war-torn African country relying on U.N., reform for recovery.

If you still have that old piece of gaming hardware you can grab Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault.

And last but not least are the PlayStation 4 games. You have the open-world multi-discipline extreme sports game from Ubisoft, Steep, and the cooperative build-and-battle RPG from Keen Games, Portal Knights.

Steep is like the closest thing you’ll get to SSX Tricky in today’s generation, even though it’s still a far cry from the classic EA Sports title. And Portal Knights is like a mix between Minecraft and MapleStory 2.

A lot of PlayStation fans weren’t entirely keen on the January line-up, giving it a 2.77 rating out of 5. I’ve definitely seen better and I’ve also seen worse. But PlayStation gamers seem to have accustomed themselves to Sony screwing them over, especially with the PS4 censorship policies.

Anyway, the PlayStation Plus games are available right now for PS Vita, PS3, and PS4 owners.
