Rainswept, Detective Mystery Game Release Set For February 1st, 2019 On PC, Mac

The minimalist detective noir mystery game from Frostwood Interactive, Rainswept, has received its official release date for its appearance on Steam for PC and Mac. Gamers can expect to get their hands on the game starting February 1st, 2019 next month.

The announcement for the release came courtesy of a new half-minute trailer, which features a few snippets of gameplay and cinematics from the point-and-click adventure. You can check out the trailer below, which probably won’t make a lot of sense given that it mostly only relies on some abstract imagery and doesn’t make a lick of effort to delve into the game’s complex story.

The actual game is about a detective named Michael Stone who heads to a small town called Pineview to assist the local police department in an investigation into a small-town murder involving a couple. The rumor has it that the couple committed a murder-suicide, but it could be more serious than that.

Stone will team up with Officer Blunt while investigating the murder of Chris and Diane. However, the mentally disheveled Stone will soon find that the case involving the couple begins to resurface old memories from his own past, which begins to chip away at the integrity of his sanity.

Rainswept - Autopsy

The game tackles the murder-mystery with point-and-click fervor, as players will need to talk to suspects, explore the environment and discover the truth behind the crime.

It reminds me of one of those old psychological thrillers, just with a new-school of hipster minimalist paint slapped on top. Whether or not it lives up to that potential is a whole other story, but we’ll find out when the game arrives on February 1st for PC and Mac.

You can learn more about Rainswept or add the game to your wishlist by heading on over to the Steam store page.
