Apex Legends Brings Battle Royal Action To PS4, Xbox One And PC

First leaked by YouTuber The Quartering, Apex Legends is indeed real and is the works of Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment. The free-to-play battle royale game boasting 60 players and current year diversity characters is not only free to play, but the title is also available to pick up right now across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

If you don’t know, Apex Legends is based on the TitanFall intellectual property and is set in the realm of said franchise. The game was revealed over on ea.com early February 4th, 2019, and is currently live.

The game announced ahead of EA’s Q3 2019 Earnings Conference Call
(set for February 5th, 02:00 PM PT) happens to be detailed over on ir.ea.com, as relayed below:

“Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players will select from one of eight Legends – each with their own unique abilities and playstyles – and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.”

Of course, Apex Legends wouldn’t be an EA game if it didn’t have monetization and live-service functions:

“The first season of Apex Legends is scheduled to kick off in March and will give players the opportunity to purchase a Battle Pass to gain access to exclusive cosmetic items earned through gameplay. Apex Legends will follow a seasonal model with each themed season bringing new content to the game in the form of new weapons, new Legends, new skins and more.”

With all of the above out of the way, you can check out gameplay that mirrors any other battle royale game released for the umpteenth time courtesy of Apex Legends‘ YouTube channel.

If for some reason the above run-of-the-mill gameplay looks interesting to you, the devs also released screenshots containing the diverse cast of characters for your amusement:
