The R18+ DLC patch for Bloody Chronicles is nearing release. The developers, Igrasil Studio, is planning on getting the patch up and out on Steam by the middle of February. Well, that’s the plan. However, they still need to get approval from Valve first.
The news comes courtesy of a tweet that was posted up over on the Igrasil Studio Twitter account on February 5th, 2019.
Are you ready for #R18?

The waiting period could be anything from a few days to a few weeks to a few months. When it comes to Valve some developers get preferential treatment over others.
However, to Igrasil’s credit, Bloody Chronicles managed to release on Steam without any problems whatsoever. This was likely due to the fact that the game is not set in a school and doesn’t feature what Valve considers to be “child exploitation”. Then again, the original release of Bloody Chronicles on Steam was what was labeled as the all-ages version. This doesn’t mean that it was for everyone like the ESRB rating, but in terms of how visual novels are classified it’s usually designated by two categories: All-Ages and R18+.
If Bloody Chronicles were to be rated by the ESRB it would probably be ‘Teen’ or ‘Mature’.
Nevertheless, the R18+ edition of the game will add additional CG sequences that gives the game a “lewd” makeover, as explained over on the Steam community page.
The developers seem convinced that the R18+ DLC patch will be accepted by Valve, but given the recent ban spree, dubbed the Waifu Holocaust 2.0, it’s a complete toss-up whether Valve will allow the R18+ DLC on the Steam store or not, even with the adult filters in place.
