We don’t know how far down the line it’s going to be, but producer and director for Dead or Alive 6, Yohei Shimbori, has confirmed that enhanced boob jiggle physics will be rolled out in a post-release update.
The blog outlines that the sex appeal of the series is part of the core features, and that there are plans to enhance them even further. A quick translation was provided by BlackKite, a contributor to RPGSite.com, on Twitter.

If you’re unable to make out the text, it reads….
“Sexy expression is an indispensable feature. Can we make them a bit softer? We’re fixated on it to the limit, but I’m still not satisfied.
“We totally intend to enhance jiggling presentations in [post-launch] updates!
“I never said there’s no jiggling, but the part when I said we’re aware of esports may have been misunderstood. And actually at first they didn’t jiggle, because we were at the phase of improving the engine.”
This is an interesting development, especially considering that originally Shimbori tried steering away from this kind of content by saying that features like the OMG Mode would be removed because it was “too exaggerated“.
BlackKite also juxtaposed the latest comments with what was mentioned back during the initial reveal of Dead or Alive 6 back on June 6th, 2018, which basically highlights the flip-flopping that took place leading up to the game’s release, and the 180 that the marketing team is now doing.

If you’re unable to read it, it states…
“In Dead or Alive 6, female characters’ breasts no longer jiggle and bounce in the exaggerated fashion the series became increasingly known for, and the costumes we have seen so far are less revealing. Female characters are in a more natural way, which makes them feel more human and belivable than before.”
This kind of anti-sexy time talk persisted throughout the marketing run for Team Ninja’s game all the way up until Shimbori finally started letting slip some of the more traditional sexy elements after pre-orders were apparently down pretty low.
The game got its biggest boost when EVO organizer Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar cut off the EVO Japan stream that featured two Japanese hotties imitating the boob and butt jiggling from Dead or Alive 6. Cuellar went on to throw Shimbori, the hot Japanese models, and Team Ninja under the bus by saying that the presentation during EVO Japan didn’t align with the FGC’s “Core Values” and banned the game from the EVO 2019 line-up.
And thus, a meme was born.
The tune has mostly changed and now Shimbori and the crew seem to be focusing on fan-service instead of trying to appeal to the phantom audience.
Part of this fan-service appeal also comes in the form of announcing the game’s DLC plans, which includes two bonus costumes, one for NiCO and one for Nyotengu, along with two wedding costume sets, and two characters from the King of Fighters. According to Twitter user Yogensha, the season pass prices are pretty expensive for such paltry offerings.
So, #DOA6 Season Pass is up on Australian PSN for 135 Australian Dollars… What do you get you may ask?.. – 2/3 Outfit Packs and 2 DLC Characters. Even I – as someone who purchased all of them in DOA5, feel this is a GIANT a rip-off.

Hopefully Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo can find a happy balance, along with ensuring that the retains the kind of “core values” that fans of the series have grown to love.
