Weekly Recap Feb 23rd: Core Values Vs Boner Culture, Vic Kicks Back, Reggie Leaves Nintendo
Weekly Recap

Oh boy, what a week this was. It’s a real big one, folks. A real big one. This week we saw two competing ideologies face off against each other: Core Values versus Boner Culture.

On one side we have chicks who are being shamed for being sexy and communities being punished for appreciating it, like what happened at EVO Japan where Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar shut down the Dead or Alive 6 livestream because it didn’t adhere to the FGC’s “Core Values”.

On the other side we have a culture that enjoys freedom of expression, freedom of boobs, and the enjoyment of all things sexy. This is none other than the one culture that has been put under blatant textual assault by game journalists when Mortal Kombat 11 was criticized for its lack of sex appeal. I’m talking about the age-old sect that has ontologically given most men a reason to exist, and the impetus for women to take up jaw-fitness sessions and pelvic power-lifting lessons, I’m talking about the one and only… Boner Culture.

The core tenets are simple:
1 – Never under any circumstances talk about Boner Culture
2 – Always make time for Sexy-Time
3 – No Boner is a bad Boner

With these pointed principles tucked firmly under your belt, you can accomplish any kind of boner that fits your lifestyle in order to increase your faptitude, and raise your overall sex appeal. Unfortunately, a lot of prudish types aren’t too fond this lifestyle.

But enough about Core Values vs Boner Culture – I have a feeling we’ll be seeing those two butting heads again in the near future.

The rest of the week saw some shocking news take place, like former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime retiring, which sent a shock wave through the Nintendo fandom. On the upside, though, fans of Vic Mignogna were able to rejoice when it was announced that he was kicking back against his aggressors by filing a lawsuit, prompting many fans to contribute to his legal fees. These stories and more in this February 23rd, 2019 edition of the Weekly Recap.

ResetEra Tries To Get Katsura Hashino Shamed Out Of Gaming

ResetEra created a thread with the express purpose of trying to shame Persona and Catherine: Full Body creative director, Katsura Hashino. The purpose is to get Hashino to either censor his work or change his sociopolitical views. YouTube’s censorship has now targeted American Krogan, restricting his potential reach and some of the access that people have to his videos, especially his video exposing Jordan Peterson and the JQ. A live-action remake of the popular anime Your Name is currently in the works by Hollywood but they’ve already race-swapped the main character. And the voice actor for Dante in Devil May Cry 5, Reuben Langdon, was shot at six times during a botched hijacking.

SJWs Get Triggered Over Criticisms Of Jade In Mortal Kombat 11

Why are people so sensitive about the female form in [current year]? Well, mostly Social Justice Warriors, game developers, and some of the people working at Warner Bros., decided to chime in and complain about the fact that gamers find certain characters attractive in video games, and how they don’t want the women to be attractive in Mortal Kombat 11 and would prefer gamers head to Pornhub. A twist and a turn took place in the Vic Mignogna saga, this time revealing that the SWATting incident involving a voice actress who blamed Vic Mignogna’s supporters for said occurrence actually turned out to be lying and there was no SWATting. And on the subject of Mignogna… Pensacon kept the drama train rolling by defending their actions and calling Vic Mignogna supporters “Alt Right trolls”. Netflix opted to cancel The Punisher and Jessica Jones, and analysts believe that “unrealistic expectations” are hurting AAA companies.

Vic Mignogna Kicks Back!

Famed anime voice actor Vic Mignogna has kicked back against the establishment, retaining a lawyer and seeking to take the powers that be to task for their wild allegations and misinformation that led to him being fired. Mignogna is currently gathering funds thanks to lawyer Nick Rekieta starting up a GoFundMe campaign. And speaking of the powers that be… Social Justice Warriors have taken aim at Niche Gamer founder’s child, putting Brandon Orselli in a tough spot because he wrote an article criticizing ResetEra about spreading misinformation about Catherine: Full Body. And on the subject of journalists, Brad Glasgow was kicked out of a freelance journalists group on Facebook all because he dared criticize misinformation spread by Kotaku and for criticizing Russ Pitts for removing an article from The Escapist at Zoe Quinn’s behest. Rainbow Six: Siege add a fat SASR female operative to the line-up, while Valve is retiring their movie and anime line-up on Steam, and the developer of Onechanbara Origin has stated that he doesn’t think Sony’s censorship regulation will limit them too much.

Boner Culture Under Attack While YouTube Targets Comments

Out of all the people online YouTuber and e-sports scrub Low Tier God decided to get involved with the discussion on Jade’s sex appeal. He kept his comments brief but he talked openly and honestly about how he felt that she lacked the sexiness in Mortal Kombat 11 that she used to have in previous outings. Market firm Piper Jaffray has attempted to defend Anthem and its seemingly lack of hype leading up to release claiming that the gamers they surveyed in their own personal survey are interested in the game, despite all signs pointing in the opposite direction. YouTube is now targeting comments on videos, shutting down channels and disabling comment sections in hopes of curbing what they claim to be “inappropriate” comments. And some media outlets are already claiming that Captain Marvel is being review bombed by “angry trolls”… the only problem with that narrative is that… there are no reviews yet!

Layoffs Underway At Electronic Arts’ Firemonkey Studios

It looks like the fat-trimming is happening sooner rather than later at Electronic Arts, as the mobile division responsible for games like Need For Speed and Real Racing is getting hit hard with layoffs. Republican Martina Markota got tagged by Chase and had her bank account shut down while she was gathering and utilizing funds for her upcoming comic book, Lady Alchemy.Star Wars: Episode IX is undergoing deep scrutiny by the head honcho over Disney’s film division, as he’s checking in weekly and sending notes to Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams over the development of the upcoming film. And the voice actress for Erica from Catherine: Full Body has claimed that the Western release of the game will undergo some changes by the localizers to adjust the game for the “bigotry” that they believe was present in the Japanese version. Oh, and special shout out to Reggie Fils-Aime calling it quits at Nintendo and retiring in good graces. He’s being replaced by Doug Bowser.
