One of the most requested modes for Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 has been the Bloody Palace Mode. Capcom announced that the update for Devil May Cry 5 will be available for free on April 1st next month for PC, PS4, Xbox One users. And no, it’s not an early April’s fools joke.
The announcement was accompanied by a handful of UHD screenshots showcasing the mode in action, which sees players taking on the role of Nero, Dante, or ‘V’ in a survival mode where you’ll have to fight against hordes of increasingly difficult enemies and bosses while also dealing with a timer. It’s not unlike Resident Evil’s Mercenaries Mode.
The goal is to battle through as many enemies as possible in order to raise your style rank and attempt to survive through multiple levels.
They don’t say much more about the Bloody Palace mode for Devil May Cry 5, nor do they offer a gameplay trailer to give gamers a look at what the new survival mode looks like in action.
All we’re given are a few screenshots of the arena-style levels where we see Nero, ‘V’, and Dante facing off against a number of different enemies who are crowding them like greasy-palmed male feminists at a Final Fantasy XV E3 booth featuring a Cindy cosplay photo op.
You’ll be able to take control of the three main heroes and their various combat styles as you fight through different stages based on the tree-like Qliphoth.
The maps aren’t entirely visually enticing, looking more like ash-colored remnants of a molten rock after a volcano erupted.
On the plus side at least the update featuring the Bloody Palace is free. Capcom very well could have charged for it, and given Capcom’s DLC and microtransaction-crazy ways it’s actually a little shocking to me that it is free.
However, a lot of gamers have also wanted to play as Lady and Trish. I imagine Capcom will make that update a premium DLC offering for Devil May Cry 5, given that one of the most searched up aspects of the game is the Devil May Cry 5 nude mods featuring the three leading ladies of the game, Trish, Lady, and Nico.
You can actually download the mod right now for the PC version of the game, putting the ladies in their birthday suits. There’s also a makeshift model swap mod so you can play as Lady in place of Dante, so technically you could play as Lady in the Bloody Palace mode update, but it’s not compatible with the nude mod… yet.
Anyway, expect to see the free Bloody Palace DLC arrive on April 1st, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
