This may be somewhat of a departure from the typical news on this site. Yes, it’s a video game and should fit right in, but technically news about a game like this looks like the odd man out. I mean, oftentimes the news feed here is filled with depressing, glum stuff, like some anime tiddy-game getting censored; some popular YouTube channel getting terminated; some person getting deplatformed, defamed, or fired from their job due to the nut jobs at ResetEra targeting and harassing their employer; or some company getting woke and going broke. This news, however, has nothing to do with any of that nonsense. In fact, it’s about a happy game from Sold Out called Little Friends: Dogs & Cats, and it’s designed to make gamers feel good about something (for once).
You can basically think of this news as respite from all the life-draining crap you see in the RSS feeds and on the front page all day long (and don’t worry, the stories to follow will surely put you right back into the culture war trenches, so it’s not like this is going to become a common occurrence anytime soon).
Anyway, Sold Out announced that their game Little Friends: Dogs & Cats will be launching exclusively on the Nintendo Switch starting May 28th this spring. The game will be available across North America, Europe, Australia, and even in the locked down police state of New Zealand.
Gamers will be able to get their hands on the title in-person ahead of the official release later this month during PAX East, as well as at a demo booth at EGX Rezzed in April.
The game itself is a relaxing title designed for gamers of all ages. You basically select from a variety of different cats and dogs, and then you go through the painstaking task of taking care of your virtual animal just like a real animal. This includes feeding them, playing with them, and cuddling with your cute little ball of fur and paws.
The game is a lot like a throwback to the classic handheld Nintendogs title that sold like gangbusters on the Nintendo DS.
You’ll be able to pick up a copy of Little Friends: Dogs & Cats starting May 28th, 2019 this spring. You can also pre-order the game from GameStop or Best Buy ahead of the physical release at participating retailers.
