Mortal Kombat 11 Kitana Trailer Confirms She Has Smaller Boobs, No Sexy Bare Legs
Mortal Kombat 11 Kitana Ugly Face

Much like every other female on the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, Kitana was hit with the puritan pike by art director Steve Beran and the rest of the team at NetherRealm Studios. This means she has no sexy, scantily clad outfits, just as Beran mentioned in his quote to Polygon back in March when he confirmed that they purposefully de-sexualized all the female characters in Mortal Kombat 11.

The official Kitana trailer also confirms that her “Klassic” attire is not the actual classic attire she wore in Mortal Kombat 2 or Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. You can see Kitana in action in her official reveal trailer below.

You’ll note that almost all the males get one of their “Klassic” outfits from any of the past games ranging from Mortal Kombat 2 up through Mortal Kombat 9, but not the women (save for Sonya’s workout outfit from Mortal Kombat 3).

As you can see in the image below, in Mortal Kombat X they allowed players to select the “Klassic” iconic outfits for Kitana from the previous games, including Mortal Kombat 9.

Mortal Kombat X Kitana vs Mortal Kombat 11 Kitana

In Mortal Kombat 11 they completely changed Kitana’s outfit from the past to something entirely different. If you remember, her very first outfit from Mortal Kombat 2 was the leotard, as pictured below.

Mortal Kombat XL - Kitana Klassic

The game is supposed to be about time travel where players will journey with the fighters from past and present in order to stop Kronika hatching her dimension-altering plan. As revealed in previous trailers, we get to see all the popular male characters in their old iconic outfits from the past games re-imagined for today’s hardware.

In Mortal Kombat 11’s present timeline, Kitana is an undead revenant along with Liu Kang. So Raiden recruits the heroes from the past, including Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, and Kitana to help fight against their revenant incarnations. The males get all their classic garb as depicted in the image below.

But as you can tell in Kitana’s trailer, her past self is completely changed. She’s no longer an exotic Edenian.

The sort of mysterious, ethnic elusiveness that made up Kitana’s design in previous games and in her live-action appearance in the Mortal Kombat movie where she was played by the drop dead gorgeous Talisa Soto, has been replaced with something a lot more mundane.

She now literally looks like a Chinese cosplayer, and all of her mysteriously exotic, and dangerously sultry appeal is gone.

Mortal Kombat X Kitana Intro

Now if you’re thinking that maybe her alternate outfit (even though her new “Klassic” outfit is technically her alternate) is going to be a lot more skin-baring you’ve thought wrong, friend.

In fact, her original outfit in Mortal Kombat 11 is the revenant skin, where she’s armored up mostly from head to toe. She bares a little bit of cleavage, but you won’t get to see her hips, thighs, or legs like in any of Kitana’s previous outfits.

You can see what her revenant outfit looks like in the ten minute video below, which is a snippet from the livestream, courtesy of Dynasty.

So yeah, as sexy as Kitana’s new garbs get is that she has a little bit of cleavage on display, but obviously not much since her boobs have been duly shrunk.

She shows no midriff, no belly button, no hips, no thighs, not even her calves.

Heck, you’ll find sexier women in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch, and that game is rated ‘E’ for Everyone!!!

I imagine there will still be fanboys making excuses why Super Smash Bros. Ultimate can show more scantily clad women than the ‘M’ rated Mortal Kombat 11, even though we all know that the real reason is that the art team at NetherRealm is converged.

Anyway, you can look for Mortal Kombat 11 to launch on April 23rd, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in all its Caliphate-compliant glory.
