All Telltale Games Will Be Removed From GOG.com On May 27th, 2019

A member of the GOG.com team informed the community via the GOG forums that all of Telltale Games’ remaining titles on the storefront will be delisted and removed starting May 27th, 2019. If you already own the games you’ll still be able to play them, but if you don’t own the games you won’t be able to purchase or download them from the GOG.com store after May 27th.

The news came via a short and sharp post explaining that if you already own the game before the delisting takes place you will be able to keep playing those games, however, all of Telltale’s games are going the way of the dodo…

“Sadly, we need to inform you that, due to company’s closure, all the remaining Telltale titles will be delisted from our catalog on Monday, May 27, 10am UTC.

“The titles are as follows: the Wolf Among Us, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Hector: Badge of Carnage, the Batman series, Sam & Max series, Puzzle Agent series, Tales from the Borderlands, and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People.”

The forum thread also contains links to the store pages of the games being delisted, so if you had plans on picking up a copy before they’re gone for good you can.

Telltale Games shut down last year following a series of financial woes that eventually led to them being broke. The studio had an immediate and abrupt closure, leaving a lot of people confused and out of work.

The quality of their games had sunk to pretty low levels, though. The Telltale’s Batman series wasn’t that bad, and there were a few plot threads that they explored that was actually kind of cool, but their Game of Thrones titles were lazy, and they completely lost their way The Walking Dead, which eventually became insufferable.

Some people expect that other digital distributors will announce the retirement of Telltale Games soon, including Steam, but so far there haven’t been any announcements about the delisting of the games from Valve as of the writing of this article.
