MediEvil Remake Gets New Story Trailer, Perfect Launch Date Of October 25th

In case it slipped under your radar this past week, we finally have a release date for the latest PlayStation classic to be receiving an HD makeover, MediEvil, as well as a brand new trailer.

Sony’s second State of Play video presentation was a decidedly more successful showcase than the first, primarily because it featured games folks are actually excited about. But in a show that begins with a new trailer for Monster Hunter World’s highly-anticipated Iceborne DLC and ends with the long-quiet Final Fantasy VII remake, it’s no surprise most of the things in the middle went almost completely unnoticed.

One of those games was the remake for MediEvil, which fans have been waiting to hear new info on for quite some time. We found out that the game finally has a launch date of Oct. 25 (perfect timing considering the family-friendly spooky vibe), and we also got to take a look at a new trailer showing off how well the game is coming along.

MediEvil is just the latest in a growing line of remakes from the PlayStation era. Both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro have received the HD remake treatment, with Crash Team Racing launching this summer. And then, of course, there’s the Final Fantasy VII remake we were just talking about. This just goes to show that the original PlayStation had some beloved games, but the console’s graphics (considered cutting-edge at the time) weren’t designed to stand the test of time.

A lot of fans are excited to revisit MediEvil, especially since the dev team is promising they’ve stayed true to the original game while adding in a whole bunch of secrets aimed at delighting series veterans. With the game’s launch still quite a few months off, expect even more details to be revealed as the Halloween season draws near.
