MotoGP 19 Trailer Teases The New Director Mode, Overhauled Multiplayer Features

Milestone released a new trailer highlighting some of the multiplayer features in the upcoming MotoGP 19. The new game will allow players to take on the world in an all new, overhauled multiplayer setup that’s built on Amazon’s cloud infrastructure called Gamelift.

In a minute long trailer they explain how the new Gamelift tech will help with providing gamers with more low-latency connections during multiplayer games, as well as finding games easier. The multiplayer options include both public and private lobby options, where you can either browse for games being played with other players from around the world, or you can create a private lobby and invite friends to your room.

You can check out the trailer below to see what sort of multiplayer options will be present in MotoGP 19.

In addition to private and public lobbies, there are also championships and tournaments, along with the ability to make use of the brand new Director Mode.

The mode is exactly what it sounds like. You’ll be able to capture footage, modify the angles, set the race rules, and hand out penalties. You might be asking “What makes this any different from the replay mode?” Well, in replay you finish the race and then rewatch what you did. In the Director Mode it’s as if you’re directing the race, being able to choose angles and highlights and the rules while the race is happening in real-time.

I don’t know if a mode like that will be game-changing for most people, but it is an interesting addition to the game. I would like to see more of it, though, and how it all ties into the core components before release. So hopefully Milestone will roll out a trailer ahead of the June 6th launch on PS4, Xbox One, and on Steam for PC.
