Spider-Man: Far From Home’s 2nd Trailer Unashamedly Spoils Avengers: Endgame With Multiverse Reveal

Sony and Marvel dropped the second trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home and it’s filled with spoilers from Avengers: Endgame. If you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame then you’re going to be in for a bit of a shock right at the very start of the trailer.

The trailer is filled with so many spoilers that Tom Holland, the star of the film, opens up by warning people that the trailer is filled with spoilers from Avengers: Endgame. If you haven’t seen the last Avengers flick then you’re going to be in for a real rotten time finding out who lived and who didn’t in this Spider-Man trailer.

Of course, if you don’t care about spoilers then hop down and watch away to your heart’s content.

So this takes place directly after the events of Avengers: Endgame and the snap has caused a tear in the fabric of reality, creating crossovers with other dimensions. This brings in monsters from other realms, and with them another supposed hero in the form of Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

The trailer sees Nick Fury pairing up a grief-stricken and sullen Spider-Man with Mysterio, who claims to be from another world.

The two are supposed to work together to take down some elemental monstrosities, but apparently things don’t quite go as planned. We see that Spidey starts the film with Stark’s specially customized and technologically advanced Iron Spider suit,, but it looks like throughout the film something happens and the suit either gets damaged or destroyed, resulting in Peter Parker having to revert back to his older costumes.

Spider-Man Far From Home - Noir Spider-Man

One thing I am curious about is that they never show Parker’s face when he’s in the noir-costume. It almost makes me think that might be a second Spider-Man from the multiverse.

Anyway, most people have surmised that the real villain of the film will be Mysterio and that the elementals are all a ruse. It’s tough to tell at this point, but it seems to be the likely scenario given that Mysterio has always been about padding his own ego.

The more atrocious and unforgivable elements of the film are still the Social Justice pandering, which includes not introducing the real Mary Jane and having diversity-hire stand-ins for Peter’s friends. I do wonder, though, if Marvel is going to move forward with this multiverse route if that means that we’ll see an actual red-headed, freckle-faced Mary Jane Watson at some point in the future? I doubt it, but one can hope.

You can look for Spider-Man: Far From Home to hit theaters on July 2nd this summer.
