Atelier Ryza Release Date Set For October 29th In North America
Atelier Ryza Release Date

The official release dates have been revealed for the upcoming Gust JRPG, Atelier Ryza. The game is set to launch on October 29th in the U.S., followed by a November 1st launch on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

According to RPGSite.net, the Western launch will arrive after the Japanese release on September 26th, 2019 in early fall.

The name of the game also changed slightly for the Western roll out, with the subtitle reading Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & Secret Hideout instead of Atelier Ryza: The Queen of Everlasting Darkness and The Secret Hideout.

The game centers around Ryza, who is described as a teenage tomboy, who ends up going on an adventure outside of her small, idyllic town. Ryza happens upon an old man who teaches her alchemy and she ends up using this as a way to save her town from a growing threat that seeds its evil beneath the picturesque town.

Much like previous Atelier games players will have access to a wide variety of alchemy and magic, along with standard attacks and skills. New to this game are different types of resource gathering, using various tools to gather different types of helpful items from a single source.

Another highlight is that the team at Gust have been working specifically on Ryza’s thighs. Yes, her thighs.

Artists are putting in diligent work to ensure that Ryza’s thigh gap is represented properly, as depicted in the image above and in the artwork below.

Atelier Ryza - Thigh Gap

This is a clear sign of the Japanese artists experimenting with the sex appeal of their characters, as opposed to Western game studios who have been going out of their way to make their women as ugly as humanly possible.

Anyway, we’ll see if Atelier Ryza manages to mix up the formula enough to lure in newcomers and keep fans of the series happy. The art-style is definitely charming, and the new additions to the combat and resource gathering could make for some extra fun-factors in the replay department, but we’ll have to wait to see how it all comes together when it release in the West starting October 29th.
