E3 2019: Tales Of Arise Coming To PS4, Xbox One, PC In 2020
Tales of Arise

Bandai Namco rolled out a new trailer for Tales of Arise for the upcoming JRPG on home consoles. The announcement trailer for the game was aired during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference, where they showcased some of the gameplay footage as well as gave gamers a brief overview of the story.

The Unreal Engine 4-powered JRPG is about two different planets on the verge of war. One is supposedly a place where the dead and the divine reside. A dude and a hot chick from the two different worlds end up meeting in a chance encounter, and attempt to defy their fate of fighting against one another in order to heal the animosity between the two worlds and prevent further chaos from taking place. You can check out the announcement trailer below.

Now keep in mind that just because the trailer aired during the Xbox E3 press conference doesn’t mean that it’s an Xbox exclusive, obviously. Microsoft just didn’t have enough exclusive games to showcase in order to fill out the full runtime of the conference and so they bought some time with a third-party title from Bandai Namco.

As for the game itself, it doesn’t look like anything special. In fact, it doesn’t look like a Tales of game at all. One would have figured that this was maybe something like a Kingdoms of Amular spin-off or some action-RPG from Platinum Games.

The combat is based around hack-and-slash combat in a real-time environment. It’s a slight departure from the way the other Tales of games typically approach combat, where you usually hit an enemy, go into a battle mode and then you and your party battle it out in real-time.

With the new setup it looks more like a basic action-RPG with vertical combat being present, almost like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.

I’m a little curious how party members will work or will they implement multiplayer? Bandai Namco did confirm via a tweet that the game is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2020.

Anyway, details are obviously sketchy right now but expect more details and information about the combat system, the party system, the exploration mechanics, and more once the official press release goes live and we find out more. One thing is for sure, at least the deuteragonist looks hot and is prime waifu bait. You can always count on the Japanese to deliver the sexy.
