Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Will Not Have Human Dismemberment

Folks looking for human dismemberment in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will not find it when wielding the iconic lightsaber. That’s correct the ability to do what Darth Vader did to Luke Skywalker in Episode V or what Obi-Wan did to Aniken Skywalker near the end of Episode III will not be possible in Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment’s Jedi: Fallen Order.

According to a new report, the forthcoming Star Wars game that sees players assuming the role of a Jedi a little after order 66 will not have human dismemberment or human-like figures losing body parts.

Instead, robotics and animal creatures like the arachnids can be cut up (to a certain point), but FOEs like Stormtroopers, guards, or other individuals that resemble human figures is a no-no reports GameRant.

The website relays that the house of the mouse will not stand for dismemberment in a list of rules that story artist (for Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7) Tatyana Drewry Carvin rattles off to publication site IGN:

“For those wondering why Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is toning down the violence, it’s apparently due to Disney’s rules about what can be shown in a Star Wars release. IGN spoke to a story artist for Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 named Drewry Carvin who explained some of Disney’s rules. “One of the rules we were given was to always hide the cut in case of decapitation. And never show blood. The burn of the lightsaber is supposed to cauterize it instantly.””

In other words, if you were hoping for a dismemberment option, cheat code or some other way to lob off a limb or two (or more) that’s not happening in this game.

If, for some reason, you are still interested in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order the game is scheduled to launch on November 15th, 2019, across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
